In 2006, we lived in Malta for six months. While we were there, we joined a gym -- a new thing for us. Our last week in Malta we asked one of the trainers at the gym for advice going forward, and he said nothing is more important than just making the gym "part of your life." The advice applies to blogs, too. And, obviously, as far as the blog is concerned, it is advice we have not yet taken to heart, since it has been more than three weeks since out last entry.
The reason we have been so delinquent in posting echoes the excuse one hears for not going to the gym -- life interfered. For example, we had to review and correct the final proofs for our book. Michele had four full hearings in her asylum clinic at Villanova. Success in one of the cases left a family of Chaldean Catholics from Iraq living with us in our house for a week. And -- talk about "life" interfering -- my sister had a baby, a beautiful boy named Jake, and of course we had to go up to New York to visit. And have we mentioned that since we returned from Malta, we have made going to the gym a part of our lives? So we had to do that, too, as well as all the other sundry tasks life presents.
But we didn't spend time on the blog. With the confidence of the drunk who wakes up with a nasty hangover on New Years Day, after having resolved to give up alcohol the night before, we think we can do better in the future, however, and certainly will in the upcoming week. Even if life interferes, we promise.
